Have you ever happened across the Jerry Springer Show (I know this group can’t actually be Tivoing it or anything…too high class a crowd) and noticed how people who are cheaters can’t seem to venture too far from home? I mean, the “other partner” always seems to be drawn from a very shallow pool of best friends, sisters, brothers, father-in-laws, etc. All the time.

If you are going to cheat, at least get far enough from the nest that you at might have a fighter’s chance at not getting caught. Right? And good grief, does anyone ever think about how awkward the family time at Thanksgiving is going to be when all of the dust clears?

For the record, no. Cheaters don’t think about any of this stuff. There is no thought process there. Just the occasional adrenaline rush.

Whatever.

Practically speaking, cheaters are by definition non-thinkers. Consideration of details like process and consequences generally cannot be bothered with at all, let alone managed effectively in these situations. So then, it’s not surprising that cheaters tend to get found out…and lose.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not discounting the concept of someone wanting out of a dismal relationship so badly that they may actually want to get caught cheating, just so the burden of ending the relationship is on the other person. I’m sure that enters into it often, actually.

Heavy stuff. Or should I say, pathetic stuff.

Obviously I ruminate upon this sort of thing a good bit. I should, after all it’s my job to. But still, the concept of cheating on a partner in a committed relationship always causes me to rehearse the line, “what goes around comes around” just one more time.

Why?

Well, it’s simple. We as human beings have a pattern. Whether we like it or not, we tend to be painfully predictable. At the very fiber of our being, what makes up our moral core is going to dominate…every time.

So it follows logically that if you choose to cheat, you are going to live the life of a cheater.

Somebody reading this just said, “Duh.”

I couldn’t agree more. “Duh.” So what is up with all the cheating? There are clear consequences to living that lifestyle, and they basically involve getting what you deserve…infidelity. Essentially, if you build a relationship upon the premise of cheating, how can you possibly expect anything in the future but…more cheating? It has been said that after the first time cheating happens, it is forever easier thereafter to repeat the offense. I think there is decidedly some truth to that concept. Once conscience is breached, the proverbial Pandora’s Box is opened.

Suppose for a brief second that you are feeling bored, sick, unattracted and/or flaky toward you committed partner. You have an affair with someone who “floats your boat” more buoyantly. Yeah, well, both you and your new, apparently exciting friend are CHEATERS. And should you choose to leave your committed partner for your new friend, you will both still be CHEATERS.

The takeaway here is that both YOU and your PARTNER will have built whatever you build together upon CHEATING.

Did you get that? And guess what? You’ll do it again.

Like it or not, cheaters indeed keep cheating. Yours will be a relationship built upon dishonesty and lack of integrity. How do you expect such a union to last? Rest assured it will not.

Meanwhile, your spurned ex will be out deserving what he or she wants. A faithful partner is a good catch.

Will you be left wallowing in the error of your ways? Not if you deserve what you want today…and stay true to the partner you say you love. If there are issues, work them out. If you need to get out more together, make it happen. And if you need to break up an exclusive relationship, do so before heading on to “greener pastures”. The proper thing to do is break off one committed relationship before starting another. This is the only way around the cheating issue. And yes…if you are “separated”…consider thoroughly the importance of waiting until the divorce is final before dating other people. You are still married until that happens, and dating under these circumstances generally raises subtle doubts in the mind of those you go out with.

But for Heaven’s sake…whatever you do, don’t sleep with your brother-in-law just to make a point, okay? It’s not going to lead to happiness.

Often, after meeting an interesting person for the first time, relationship develops. Sometimes a relationship which leads to the altar. However, before this happens, one may want to consider using a search company to perform a search on Texas Marriage Records through a Free Marriage Records database search.

For, while most people are still honest with regards to relationships, as has been proven in the past, not all are as trustworthy. In addition, considering we live in a day and age where both bigamy, polygamy and cheating are at an all time high, it is also becoming a more modern practice with regards to both love and money.

Because, while people generally marry for love, there are still those that marry for money. So, knowing if a person has such history, can often save one a lot of pain in the future. Therefore, by performing a background search related to marriage, one can prevent a surprise which may cost one a great deal more than would have the nominal fee such a service uses charges in this regard.

When becoming romantically involved with an individual, most individuals place a lot of trust in the other person without knowing anything about the person. Today, this can be more dangerous than ever before. For, there are more and more issues with regards to individuals seeking to get involved with others only for the monetary support which one may be able to provide both now and at least for a time. However, since these relationships are solely based on money and not love, often the person and the money are gone before one realizes they have been taken for a ride.

Therefore, it is always good to know as much as possible about the person one plans on spending their life with in order to protect both heart and home. Also, while some may see these searches as a scam, most are exactly what they claim, a search service which provides information on various individuals for a small fee. So, regardless as to why one needs to locate information pertaining to marriage, one can rest assured that going through such a service, one is most likely going to be able to do so.

Regardless, if one can provide at least some information related to the individual in question of either having or not having a marriage license issued in their name, it is best one hire a service which offers both this and other search services in case one needs additional help in the future. To this end, in order to locate such a service, simply type Texas Marriage Records in the search bar of any search engine to locate all services related to such a process.

If you need information and advice on Texas Marriage Records, we can help you.

It is a sad fact that of all Americans who have been married, one out of three has also experienced at least one divorce. With the vast majority of people in America being married one or more times, it is common knowledge that every couple goes through a few rocky patches. Many marital problems can be solved with open communication and a solid commitment to one another. For more serious issues, some couples turn to marital counseling and may find renewed strength at the end of that journey.

Unfortunately, some problems escalate into insurmountable barriers to a successful marriage. Generally these seemingly unsolvable issues stem from one or both partners refusing to address their problems while they are still manageable. Someone’s feelings get hurt, resentment festers, and eventually one spouse detaches emotionally from the other. The further into this cycle a couple is, the more likely they will find themselves in divorce court.

The downhill slide that ends in separation usually begins with communication problems. It may start with keeping secrets, and soon one or both spouses avoid talking to each other about marital problems or possibly even life in general. A failure to communicate with each other indicates a lack of trust, which is the foundation of marriage.

Shortly following a breakdown in communication, a partner may begin to employ personal defense mechanisms that will continue to weaken the marital bond. Stonewalling tactics, being overly defensive, or dismissing the other spouse’s feelings makes healthy conflict resolution impossible. Avoiding conflict or engaging in negative defense mechanisms serves only to poison a marriage.

On the other hand, a spouse may make multiple efforts to address marital problems only to be shut out by the other who is utilizing unhealthy defenses. Eventually the spouse making an effort to correct issues in the marriage will tire of being ignored and may even begin to distance his or herself from the other partner. At this point, it is highly likely that one or both spouses may give up entirely and lose any interest in saving the marriage.

Is there a “point of no return” when a marriage is doomed? Certainly there is. However, that point is different for each couple. The key to saving a marriage is willingness to save it. If one or both spouses have given up on their partnership, there is not much hope. For couples who have not given up, the road to marital recovery requires honesty, communication, patience, forgiveness and commitment. It is a long and bumpy road, but then so is the road to divorce.

The internet certainly has provided our society with wonderful conveniences that we use every day. Simply by typing a website address, you can shop for new clothes at two o’clock in the morning, get directions to the best Chinese restaurant in town, reconnect with friends you haven’t seen in twenty years, and complete research for a school project. However, there is also a dangerous downside to this piece of modern technology. The internet has allowed for an unprecedented level of anonymity in supposedly intimate relationships. You never really know who is sitting in front of another computer screen carrying on a conversation with you. To adults who are looking for escape from an unhappy marriage, the thrill of a stranger can seem much more appealing than the person with whom they shared vows. All too often, initial cyberspace conversations quickly evolve into online sexual encounters and perhaps more. Let’s be clear. Online affairs do constitute cheating on your spouse. The betrayal and the destroyed lives could not be more real.

One of the most significant problems facing a married couple for whom internet relationships have become a point of contention is the fact that men and women are not in agreement over what constitutes inappropriate behavior on the internet. Only 46% of men believe that online affairs should be considered adultery. Instead, the majority assert that anything taking place on the computer is only harmless flirtation. After all, there is no physical touching, right? However, statistics shows that nearly one quarter of couples who begin by flirting online eventually will meet for an in-person encounter. Over time, the satisfaction that comes from communication on the computer simply is not enough.

Even if physical contact is never made between two people who are having an online affair, the potential damage to a marriage is still quite significant. The partner who is carrying on romantic correspondence over the internet will have less time to devote to his family. Communication and intimacy with the spouse become less important because those needs are largely being met by the stranger on the computer screen. The participant may begin to imagine a better life with his online lover and make plans to run away for a fresh start. Or, maybe the cyber-romance is taking place with a former boyfriend or girlfriend with whom you have reconnected on a social networking site like Facebook or MySpace. If you are experiencing some difficulties in your marriage, it becomes easier to look back on a former relationship with rose-colored glasses. When you are able to fantasize that this person is whoever you need her to be, you idealize a situation that is likely to fail when placed into reality.

Unfortunately, the proliferation of online affairs has made them a factor in an increasing number of divorce cases. Divorce attorneys now report that online romances contribute to one-third of divorce litigation! This is a startling statistic that should serve as a wake-up call for anyone who thinks that the internet offers a safe way to flirt and that surely your spouse will understand. In fact, the relatively new practice of internet investigative services has exploded in popularity in recent years. Suspicious spouses now can hire a professional to track possible online infidelity through the use of email addresses or other information. When gathering this type of evidence, husbands and wives must be very careful. John Mayoue, a divorce attorney from Atlanta, shares that, “A spouse does have a right to privacy even from his or her own spouse. It’s the most compelling evidence you’ll have in a divorce case, but also the most fraught with potential liability.” Unauthorized use of a private email address is illegal and may leave any gathered evidence inadmissible, not to mention make you guilty of committing a serious crime.

If you suspect that your spouse may be engaging in an online affair, you should consider a phone call to an attorney as one of your first actions. You will need legal advice if you decide to pursue an investigation into your spouse’s activities, and certainly will want representation should the situation ultimately lead to a divorce. There are conflicting opinions as to whether or not online affairs can be considered adultery when determining grounds for divorce in Texas , so an experienced family law attorney will be able to tell you the best approach for filing for a divorce in this situation. He or she also will guide you through every step of the sensitive process and produce a result that leaves you and any children in as good of a position as possible.

Tony R. Bertolino is the managing partner at Bertolino LLP with law offices located in Austin, Houston and San Antonio, Texas. A member of the Trial and Appellate Litigation Team, Mr. Bertolino’s practice is devoted largely to complex transactions, commercial litigation, business law, entertainment law and family law matters.
If you or your spouse is now considering a divorce, you must know the different types of Texas Divorces. There are many different types of divorce; you just need to find out what will be the right type for you and your family. All of the types of divorce can be with or without children depending on what your situation might be.

The first type of divorce is an uncontested divorce. This type of divorce is where both parties are in full agreement of all of the details of the divorce and they both agree to sign all of the paperwork. One benefit of getting an uncontested divorce is that it will be over quick and painlessly. The lawyers will draw up the paperwork, make sure that both of you agree with the terms, and you will both pay a small fee to each of your lawyers and it will be finished. When you and your spouse are looking for a peaceful inexpensive divorce this would be the route to take. If you have children, it would also put a lot less stress on the children which would lower your overall stress level.

The next type of divorce is a default divorce. The papers for this type of divorce are just like all the other types of divorce but the process for going about getting the divorce is different. You will draw up the set of Texas divorce papers with your lawyer with all of the correct information. At the end of it you will sign the papers. Your spouse will then be served with the final paperwork and will have to sign it. After you have the signature, you will work with your lawyer to draw up the final papers and will go to court for your official hearing. This type can be helpful for most people looking to file for a divorce.

The last type of divorce is called a Missing Spouse Divorce. The title of this divorce pretty much explains what type it is. If you are looking to get a divorce and don’t where your spouse is at the present time, you can file for this type of divorce. They have a process that they will go through in filing the papers to make sure that everything is done by Texas state law. No matter what state your spouse is in, you can use this type of divorce.

Divorce records are considered public records in all states although there may be variations in the way they are governed and treated from one state to another. To search divorce records in any of the states, there are basically two options: government or private. Government sources are generally thought to be free, albeit largely the contrary in Texas while higher expectations are placed upon private ones. Either will work and is a matter of individual preference or situation.

The government department which is in charge of divorce records in Texas is the Texas Department of State Health Services and the service is provided out of its Vital Statistics Unit under the Report of Divorce Index section. These indexes can be downloaded free of charge from the department’s website. There are close to a hundred thousand divorce files maintained by the office but its function to this end is limited to primarily providing verification letters associated with divorce.

A Divorce Letter of Verification from the Vital Statistics Office only states whether or not a divorce was issued in the state of Texas. It contains the names of the divorcing parties, the county where the divorce was granted and the court case number. Fees are $20.00 for a letter. They are considered searching charges and hence not refundable or transferable to another record whether or not a search yields any results. However if a search results in a ‘no record found’, it can be used as proof of single-status (marital). Verification letters are available to divorces that occurred from 1968 to the last day of the year preceding the current one.

For other divorce records such as certified copies of Divorce Certificates and Divorce Decrees, you must contact the District Clerk’s office in the county where the divorce was filed as they are not maintained at the Vital Statistics Office. On that same note, Reports of Divorce Indexes before 1968 are not available there either due to the fact that divorce applications were not filed with the State offices until 1968 so they too have to be obtained at their office of origin in the respective counties.

Texans are a special lot. The reasons behind their search for Texas Divorce Records are varied and flowery. There are also Texans who have resided in multiple states or county prior to Texas. As such, the complete divorce records of these folks will cut across state borders and the various state public record databases are not linked. As a result, employing government agencies for multiple-state divorce record searches becomes unfeasible. That’s why private record providers are the preferred option for Texas Divorce Records Search especially when time and personal bandwidth are a constraint. Their databases typically cover all states.

Commercial record providers are the end-all solution for those who can see past the fees involved but only if you signed up with the right one. The demand for this type of service has soared in recent times due to its obvious edge over using public agencies. This has consequently attracted many pretenders onto the bandwagon. Having that said, it’s not difficult to identify the bona-fide providers. One of the best ways is to check out the review or specialist sites which are abundantly found in any of the major search engines. They seldom miss.
