My girlfriend and I have been together now for about six years. There came a point in our relationship when we decided to get married. We live in Texas and this state like most others allows for an uncontested divorce. My problem was at first I did not know where to turn. A separation agreement is a written legal document that memorializes the marital and divorce agreements of a married couple prior to divorce.
