The Beauty Of Uncontested Divorce Papers
When you file a divorce from your spouse, it can be a very scary time. This is a time when you’re on your own for the first time in quite a while. You are no longer going to be able to rely on that person for moral support or financial support. For many people considering divorce this is no stretch. They’ve pretty much been living alone for quite some time, they just happen to have another person living in the house as more or less a roommate. However, that person won’t be there at all, in any respect. That can make even considering divorce very scary. The first thing you should do is decide whether you’re going to hire a lawyer or you’re going to use do it yourself divorce papers. Whichever you decide, hopefully the divorce papers will be uncontested. That’s the ideal scenario. If they are in fact contested, that’s the time when the divorce can get pretty messy.
Why Uncontested?
When divorce papers are uncontested, that’s when you or a courier hands the papers to your spouse and they are received without incident. This happens when both parties are for the divorce. They know things aren’t working and, for whatever reason, they want to end the divorce on good terms. They don’t want to fight for more money, or for kid visitation, and they certainly don’t want to draw it out any longer than things have already drawn on. They want it done with, over and the uncontested divorce papers are the quickest way to go about it.
If you feel as though the divorce papers won’t go uncontested, you may want to try to grease the wheels a little bit by telling your spouse that this is the best way to get things done. Try to reason with your spouse and make them see that this is the quickest and easiest way to get on with your lives. If that doesn’t work, there may be no hope. You may have a messy divorce on your hands.
The Alternative
Of course the alternative is the opposite of uncontested divorce papers. That’s when your spouse doesn’t agree with the monetary division or the children’s visitation; they want it their way or the highway. That’s when divorce becomes a painful, drawn out process where nobody truly wins. That’s the scenario you don’t want and it’s why you should do everything you can to ensure that the divorce papers go uncontested. Unfortunately, though, as divorce records will show, most divorces are messy and that’s an unfortunate fact of life regarding the dissolution of marriage.
